Heads up: Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Tunnel is closed in the early morning over the next few days
Maintenance work is being carried out tomorrow and over the weekend
If you’re driving towards Abu Dhabi down Salam Street over the next few days, you might find the traffic a bit heavy near the Sheikh Zayed Tunnel. That’s because it’s closed for periods of time between now and Saturday for repair and upgrade work.
Expect to be diverted through the Sea Palace Tunnel instead. It’ll be closed from midnight until 5.30am tomorrow, and then will be closed until 11.30am on Friday. It’ll also be closed Saturday until 5.30am. Check out the tweet below from Abu Dhabi Police for full details.

The works are part of a Dhs109m renovation project taking place in the tunnel, which is expected to be finished by late 2019.
