It’s the latest in a string of restaurant, bar and club openings in JBR…

Just in: the fifth serving of Irish pub stalwart McGettigans will open tomorrow at Hilton Dubai Jumeirah on JBR Walk (you can’t miss it, it sits right next to the main roundabout near The Beach).

The ground floor pub will open its doors from 4pm to 3am during its launch period, with a daily happy hour from 4pm to 8pm (the discounts will run until 9pm on Thursday). Happy hour drinks will start from Dhs20 for wine, Dhs29 for bottled beer and spirits and Dhs30 for draught beer.

With a similar feel to its sister outlets, there will be 10 large screens playing live sports matches and a menu of Irish pub grub served up every day.

Later in the year, the pub will serve up a weekly quiz, live music, a special theme night every Monday, as well as the McGettigans signature breakfast. 

This is the latest in a string of openings that are set to see Dubai’s JBR become the go-to destination for eating, drinking and partying. 

Last month, Lock Stock and Barrel number two opened in the Rixos Premium in JBR, and that’s all about live music, ladies’ nights and three floors of pub (it’s spread over 22,000 square feet).

Another recent JBR opening is Inner City Zoo, which occupies another spot in the Rixos Premium. The nightclub opened with a bang last weekend, and has a host of weekly themed nights including their ladies’ night, Inner City Sass every Tuesday.

Of course, we’re all still waiting for STK to land in that hotel too. The American steakhouse is expected to open sometime next month.

Slightly further afield, Coco on 8 has just opened where Dek on 8 used to be, aiming to bring Miami cool to Media One Hotel. Plus, we’re hotly anticipating the opening of casual craft beer concept Axe House, which will be replacing the ever-popular Cocktail Kitchen in JLT.
