Brunches in Dubai are a fabulously fun affair, with food, drinks and usually dancing galore. Many across the city tend to start from around 1pm, which can be a little early for those who take a while to get going, especially on a Friday.

If you like your lie-ins and leisurely weekends but want the benefit of amazing brunch deals, a late brunch is the one for you.

Asia Asia

Okay, this one isn’t that late on in the afternoon, but a 2pm start somehow feels like much longer to prepare. If you haven’t been to Asia Asia yet, it’s a definite one for the must-visit Dubai list, with gorgeous interiors and epic Dubai Marina views. Pier 7’s restaurants seem to be all about the later brunches and Cargo’s tropical brunch is excellent value for money. Dhs195 will get you house beverages and food for three hours. Don’t forget to wear your best beachy attire.

This one’s definitely a late starter, commencing from 6pm but it’s a good one to add to your list if you’re busy during the day. There’s unlimited sushi at this cool Japanese brunch.

Le Petit Belge

Le Petit Belge offers its diners a range of classic Belgian dishes to try at this super stylish brasserie-style restaurant in JLT. Running from 5pm, you’ll be able to get all your stuff done during the day before brunching commences.

Mr Miyagi’s offer two sittings of their Wok & Roll brunch every Friday; in the afternoon from 2pm to 5pm or in the evening from 7pm to 10pm. This three hour package will get you unlimited house beverages and five courses of their Asian dishes, alongside endless karaoke and games. It’s Dhs299 for house beverages.

If you’re looking for a sunset brunch with incredible views then Pure Sky Lounge is a top option. Their sunset brunch is on every Friday from 5.30pm to 9pm and is the perfect place to go if you have visiting friends or family, for more of a dinner brunch. Seven Sisters

Sleek Lebanese export Seven Sisters’ sunset brunch is perfect for those that like a weekend lie-in. From 3pm to 7pm every Friday, guests can enjoy free-flowing beverages alongside commercial R&B and chart hits by DJs SkinnyLoop and Devin Kosoko as the sun sets over the (now covered) Seven Sisters terrace. Food-wise, don’t expect a huge feast, but it’s tasty bites from their varied menu that kick off with a salad and edamame course, followed by a fresh sushi platter. The mains are a little limited – though it’s great you can order more of everything (you’ll definitely want a second truffle flatbread), that are followed by a fruit platter to finish.

Toro Toro

The south-American inspired Toro Toro has a Friday brunch that kicks off at the civilised time of 3pm. Guests can enjoy three hours of unlimited starters, mains and desserts accompanied by a free flowing of beverages from 3pm to 6pm, with a happy hour taking over from 6pm offering selected drinks for Dhs30. On the menu, expect smoked guac, tuna tataki and wild mushroom flatbread, followed by Argentinean steaks and chaufa rice with chicken. It’s washed down with beverages from the three dedicated drinks stations where you can mix your own Sangria, infuse spirit-based beverages with spices and syrups and enjoy the signature Caipirinha to the backdrop of Toro Toro’s DJ Pedro.
