Looking to take a break from the city and indulge in a family-friendly feast? The Friday Market brunch at Raffles is back for the new season, and promises another season of family-friendly fun coupled with delicious cuisines from around the world.

Running every Friday from 1pm to 4.30pm, seating is found in the Raffles Garden. Expanding over more than 1,500 square metres, it’s a calm, green oasis that contrasts to the bustle of the busy WAFI neighbourhood.

The tables, a mix of low lounge tables and outdoor dining tables, are spread out in the middle, neatly surrounded by an array of live cooking stations split between different world cuisines.

Each kitted out to look like a market stall and each one offering something different, expect to dine around the world without leaving the comfort of the garden.

In France, feast on an array of seafood such as oysters, mussels and crab claws, while a trip to the UK will allow you to enjoy a hearty roast from a choice of three meats, or beef wellington coupled with creamy mash and lashings of gravy. The Asian market is a must-visit, with fluffy bao buns filled with tender pulled beef.

Straying slightly from the country-dedicated stalls, you’ll find a meaty market filled with steaks, super sized burgers and other tender cuts of meat, as well as a station filled with bread, cheese and cold cuts.

The selection is extensive, and regularly topped up by the chefs who’ll cook dishes to order and deliver them to your table.

A dedicated dessert market has a good selection, with sweet pastries and cakes on offer, as well as an ice cream corner and piping hot churros.

Perfect for adults and children alike, there’s a dedicated play area and bouncy castle where little ones can work up an appetite – or work off their brunch.

Festive fans can also look forward to the return of the Christmas edition of The Friday Market Brunch, which will take place on Friday December 6. As well as the usual extensive array of dishes, there’ll be festive-themed food options, a festive market, a choir, and plenty of Christmassy activities for the kids. The one-off festive brunch is priced at Dhs300 with soft drinks and Dhs450 with house drinks.
