Sport will go head-to-head with music this weekend when the first of the winter’s major golf tournaments takes place at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

So while the noise of Sandance and Alicia Keys will reverberate around Dubai in the evening, it will be the silence around the greens that will echo through town during the day as the 2013 European Tour season reaches its climax.

The four-day DP World Tour Championship starts on Thursday, with the winner – likely to come from Henrik Stenson, Justin Rose, Graeme McDowell or Ian Poulter – crowned on Sunday.

Ahead of the event, What’s On has enlisted the help of some experts, Golf Digest ME editor Robbie Greenfield and Sports Talk ME editor, Ben Jacobs, to preview what promises to be a thrilling event.
