What’s On has details of the Zayed Marathon at Yas Marina Circuit, a charity run for the Healthy Kidney Foundation taking place on March 21.


Runners looking to cash in on big prizes should check out the upcoming Zayed Marathon on March 21.

Hosted at the Yas Marina Circuit, this charity run is offering up prizes worth a total of Dhs250,000 to winners.

Registration is now open for the race, which raises money for the Healthy Kidney Foundation. Open to runners of all abilities, all proceeds from the Dhs100 registration fee will go to the foundation.

Featuring a brand new pro-field category for more experienced runners the race will feature two distances for participants to choose from – 10K or 5K.

In addition there is also a 5K Hand Cycle race for wheelchair competitors. Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second and third places in all the events.

Non-runners will be able to check out a variety of entertainment offerings near the track during the races, including free children’s activities, food and beverage stalls and live performances from both Arabic and Western artists.

New this year, all entrants will have their BMI index and data measured onsite as part of the Yas Marina Circuit’s ongoing health audit, which aims to provide more details on the UAE’s activity habits for future health initiatives in the emirate.
