What’s On has details about the UEFA Champions League Trophy in Abu Dhabi at Yas Mall. Football fans in UAE can see the trophy, May 1 and 2.

Footie fans will be able to glimpse the coveted UEFA Champions League trophy for the very first time in the UAE, when it goes on display at Yas Mall from May 1 to 2.

The most prestigious prize in the European club football will be hosted in the capital as part of the celebrations for the pre-opening of the UEFA Champions League Experience, a concept store and casual dining destination due to land at the UAE’s second-biggest shopping mall.

The event in May will see fans able to take photos with the trophy as well as see performances from the world’s top football freestylers. Three times world champion Andrew Henderson and the current holder of five Guinness World Records, John Farnworth, will be showing off their ball juggling skills with sessions of ‘keepy uppy’.

“We will be giving a taste of what is to be expected with our special pre-opening activity, which will showcase the most eminent prize in European football – the UEFA Champions League trophy – alongside incredible ball control displays from the world’s two greatest football freestylers and a host of other activities. It really is a must-attend event for every true football fan,” said Nick Peel, CEO of Marka, the company operating the shop.

The 17,000 square foot store/restaurant, which is expected to open in June, will serve up casual dishes in a stadium-inspired setting designed to replicate the UEFA league while live matches will be shown on screens in the restaurant. In addition visitors will be able to purchase merchandise and check out a museum for sports fans to learn more about league teams and players.
