Our pick of the movies out in Dubai cinemas this week is Triple 9, a tense heist thriller with an all-star cast including Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Here are all the flicks you’ll be able to go see from tomorrow…

TRIPLE 9

Triple 9 follows the story of a gang of corrupt cops and their leader Michael (Chiwetel Ejiofor), who are being blackmailed by the Russian Mafia (Kate Winslet is merciless as the mob moll Irina) to carry out an outrageous bank heist. Casey Affleck is Chris, the hapless rookie cop who gets caught up in the deception. The violence is visceral, the action sequences are genuinely thrilling, and the all-star cast is rounded out by Woody Harrelson and Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul.

THE DIVERGENT SERIES: ALLEGIANT

If the conclusion of the Hunger Games franchise has left a Young Adult Novel void in your life, take comfort in the fact that the Divergent series is still going. The final book of Veronica Roth’s dystopian sci-fi trilogy has been divided into two (the conclusion, Ascendant, comes out next year). Allegiant sees our hero Tris (Shailene Woodley) escape with Four (Theo James) beyond the walls of Chicago – but what awaits them beyond the borders is a Mad Max: Fury Road style landscape and an alternative society that may not be as benevolent as it seems.

BLEEDING HEART

If you’re used to seeing Jessica Biel in action flicks and rom-coms, the star is barely recognisable as May, a yoga-loving, free-spirited woman who’s life takes a dark turn when she’s reunited with her long lost sister Shiva (played by Girls’ Zosia Mamet). It’s a moody, slow-paced thriller with great performances from both actresses. However, be warned that there are no lighthearted moments whatsoever, and you’ll probably want to avoid it as a date movie.
