1. Dine at the hands of a celebrity chef

Chef Nobu will be returning to the kitchen of his Atlantis restaurant, Nobu, on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 September. He’ll be serving a limited edition Omakase menu from 8pm to 12am for Dhs595, as well as hosting a special edition of the World of Nobu brunch on Friday afternoon.

2. Catch a superstar Brit performer at a ladies’ night

White Dubai has announced that it’s set to welcome superstar Tinie Tempah this weekend. It’s going to be free entry for everyone, and great news for ladies – they’ll be treated to unlimited complimentary beverages until midnight. No stranger to the region, Tinie Tempah was last in Dubai performing at his weekly Disturbing Dubai night back in March, and is known for getting the crowd going with some of his best-loved hits including ‘Pass Out’, ‘Girls Like’ and ‘Written In The Stars’.

3. Catch a new family-friendly film

Brand new animation Small Foot is out in UAE cinemas this Thursday. The family-friendly hit features an all-star cast including Channing Tatum, Danny Devito, James Corden and Zendaya and follows the story of bright young yeti Migo, who discovers something he thought didn’t exist – humans. When he goes on a mission to prove it, it turns the simple yeti community into total uproar.

4. See an international DJ spin

Underground pioneer Andrea Oliva is the latest DJ to take up deck duty at Soho Garden this week for their ‘Thursday at Soho’ night. The glass roof the brand put on at the start of summer will also be coming off for the gig, so you can go back to enjoying your favourite house DJs al fresco from next week.

5. Don your Lederhosen for Oktoberfest festivities

Oktoberfest makes its way to The Tap House on The Palm from Saturday September 22 until the Sunday October 7.The beachfront gastro pub will introduce a limited edition Oktoberfest menu for Dhs79, alongside beverage deals which include a pitcher of Paulaner available for Dhs99 or the choice of a bucket of five beers (Hofbräu Weissbier or Erdinger Weissbräu) for Dhs175.

6. Party at an al fresco party brunch

Popular party brunch Hidden is back outside on the al fresco terrace at Treehouse after a summer undercover. Expect a three-hour package that’s a mix of a la carte sharing dishes served to the table, as well as an international buffet alongside an extensive list of tropical cocktails and a lively party vibe.

7. Dine across the city for less

Jumeirah Restaurant Week wraps up this weekend so it’s your last chance to dine at some top restaurants for less. This time around, it will have 24 restaurants across the Jumeirah hotels in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi and Madinat Jumeirah taking part, offering signature set menus and buffets for a fraction of the usual price of their menus. 8. Groove on the Grass at a season opening

The biggest electronic music and arts event in Dubai, Groove on the Grass is set to welcome UK electronic icons ORBITAL for their season opening this Friday. ORBITAL will be supported by Chicane and James Zabiela on the main stage. In the Green Arena, Groove On The Grass goers will be able to hit the dance floor for a day-to-night party.

9. Check out a fashion pop-up

Fashion brand Berluti’s have launched a new exhibition at The Dubai Mall to showcase the brand’s latest Off The Road capsule collection of biker accessories. The exhibition showcases an exclusive Triumph motorbike, which has been customised by Parisian brand Mecatwin.

10. Take the kids to see some musical theatre

Expect songs and stage fighting as a family-friendly, French makeover of Aladdin comes to The Junction theatre this Friday. There will be two performances at 11am and 2pm, with tickets priced at Dhs125.

11. Head away on a daycation (and brunch)

12. Head to a beauty talk with pop songstress Rihanna

Rihanna is headed to Dubai for a one-off event, which is sponsored by Sephora and Rihanna’s makeup line, Fenty Beauty, and it’s happening this Saturday September 29. The event’s location hasn’t been revealed yet – all that we know is it’s going to be in Dubai. The Work singer will be joined by her makeup artists, Priscilla Ono and Hector Espinal, who will offer a “behind the scenes experience”, sharing all their beauty tips and tricks.

13. Top up your tan with a pool day

Address Boulevard is one of the swanky hotel openings that came to Dubai last year, and if you’re looking for an inner-city urban escape, there’s a Saturday deal to cool of at this summer you’ll like. 14. See a soul star in Sharjah

As part of a series of shows celebrating the reopening of the newly rebuilt Africa Hall, Lisa Simone, the jazz and soul singing daughter of legendary Nina Simone is performing this Saturday. As well as releasing four solo albums, Simone was nominated for a Grammy as a vocalist in the jazz band Liquid Soul for their 2000s album, Here’s the Deal.
