Public transport timings have also been adjusted…

Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) have announced that there will be one free day of parking in this weekend Dubai, on the occasion of Islamic New Year.

Parking fees will be waived across the city at all paid parking zones except for multi-storey car parks. Paid parking will resume the following day.

The UAE has already declared a public holiday for Islamic New Year, but the the exact date is still dependent on the sighting of the moon. It’s expected that it will fall on Sunday September 1.

The RTA have also adjusted the public transport timings for the public holiday:

Metro

The Red Line will operate from 5am to 12am (Midnight), while the green Green Line will run from 5.30am to 12am (Midnight).

Dubai Tram

The Dubai Tram will continue to operate from 6am until 1am the following day Saturday to Thursday and from 9am to 1am the following day on Friday

Buses

Dubai buses from main buses stations (including Gold Souq) will run from 4.35am to 00.59am, while Ghubabiba Station will operate from 4.26am to 00.34am (past midnight).

Sub-stations including Satwa, will operate from 5am to 11pm, with the exception of the C01 line, which operates from Satwa around the clock. Al Qusais buses will be in operation from 4.34am to 12.08am the next day, Al Quoz Industrial Station from 5.05 am to 11.35 pm, while Jebel Ali Station will run from 5am to 11.22pm.

Metro feeder stations in Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, Abu Hail and Etisalat will be served from 5am ten past midnight the next day (note that all metro feed lines coincide with the schedule and journeys of the metr0).
