The immersive cinema experience will return for three days only…

Yas Movies in the Park, the outdoor cinema at Du Arena, is returning to Abu Dhabi for three nights next month. From Thursday October 17 to Saturday October 19, movie fans will be able to enjoy screenings of a selection of popular blockbusters – totally free of charge.

Not only will there be free films but also during a special screening of The Greatest Showman, visitors will be treated to a live performance from UK West End singers and dancers. The show starts at 8.30pm on Friday October 18, with Hugh Jackman’s smash-hit musical being brought to life on stage.

Entrance to all of the showings is free (we recommend to bring your own picnic chair and blanket), or you can upgrade to the limited VIP experience which costs Dhs65 including a premium viewing experience, bean bag, two soft drinks and popcorn. Tickets can be purchased on their website.

What’s the schedule?

Thursday October 17, 6.30pm

Family night will kick off with fantasy mystery film Pokémon Detective Pikachu, starring Ryan Reynolds. Doors will open at 4pm where visitors can enjoy carnival rides and kids zone activities before the film starts at 6.30pm.

Thursday October 17, 9pm

After Pokémon will be hit Disney remake Aladdin, which took the silver screen by storm this summer. Starring Will Smith as the Genie, the fun action-packed movie is expected to have everyone up on their feet singing along to the hit songs.

Friday October 18, 6pm

The following day will showcase Moana up on the big screen. Another animated Disney movie, this time set in Hawaii where a rebellious teenager sets off in search of self-discovery. Expect plenty of sing-a-long moments from this feel-good film.

Friday October 18, 8.30pm

In what will potentially be the most exciting show of the weekend, West End performers will take the stage during a special screening of The Greatest Showman. The immersive experience aims to bring the movie to life through singing, dancing and drama.

Saturday October 19, 6pm

Disney’s live-action adaptation of the classic fairytale, Beauty and the Beast, is next on the bill. Families and children will enjoy the updated version of the original storyline, which has been modernised to give Belle, played by Emma Watson, more of an independent character.

Saturday October 19, 8.45pm

To end the weekend of blockbuster action on a high, Avengers: Endgame will be the final movie to be shown. There’s a Marvel fancy dress competition with big prizes up for grabs, so don’t forget to wear your best Avenger costume.
