Quick – you better fill up fast…

If you’re planning on filling up at the pump over the next few days you might want to do it fast, as UAE petrol prices are set to increase after a month of cheaper petrol.

In December, prices will rise to Dhs2.24 per litre for Super 98, up from Dhs2.20 in November and the same as it was in October. Special 95 will be priced at Dhs2.12 a litre, up 3 fils from Dhs2.09 last month.

Diesel prices will stay at Dhs2.38, the same as it was in September and November.

All prices include the VAT rate of 5 per cent.

The UAE’s Ministry of Energy first began setting fuel prices based on average global prices in August 2015. Before that, the price of petrol in the UAE was subsidised by the government, which shielded consumers from global fluctuations in the cost of petrol.
