It’s the first time we’ve seen any movement in many months…

Petrol prices in the UAE have been announced for February 2021 by the UAE Fuel Price Committee. While the prices for Super and Special fuels remain unchanged since April 2020, for diesel drivers you’ll be treated to a price drop next time you fill up.

It’s the first time since last April that there’s been any movement in what you can expect to pay at the bowser. Throughout the pandemic, petrol prices have remained steady at Dhs1.91 per litre for Super98; Dhs1.80 for Special 95, and Dhs2.06 for diesel.

Now, from February 1, diesel drivers can expect to pay just Dhs2.01 per litre when they refuel.

All prices include the five per cent VAT.

The UAE’s Ministry of Energy first began setting fuel prices based on average global prices in August 2015. Prior to that, the price of petrol in the UAE was subsidised by the government, which shielded consumers from global fluctuations in the cost of petrol.
