LA hotspot The Nice Guy is opening soon in DIFC
The West Hollywood hotspot is frequented by celebrities including the Kardashians and Justin Bieber…
There’s no short supply of haute hangouts with international roots in Dubai. From Zuma and Indochine in DIFC to Sushisamba on the Palm Jumeirah, concepts from around the world are drawn to Dubai’s shores.
And later this year a new one is set to join their ranks, as LA’s celebrity hangout The Nice Guy gears up to open. Hoarding for the restaurant has already gone up on the ground level of Emirates Towers advertising that the restaurant is ‘opening soon’. An Instagram account, @theniceguydubai, is also already active. And now we’ve exclusively been given a first look at the restaurant interiors, which match the kitsch and eclectic decor with a decadent, cosy feel of the original in LA.
The menu isn’t tied to a certain theme, although there appears to be a heavy Italian influence on the LA restaurant’s menu: lobster pizza, spaghetti pomodoro and a cacio e pepe all feature. But you’ll also find crowd pleasers such as hamachi crudo, the Nice Guy Burger and Molinari’s Meatballs.
The Nice Guy Dubai will be the second outpost of the brand, joining the original in Los Angeles, and will be followed by an opening in Aspen in 2023. It comes from Los Angeles-based restaurant and nightlife masterminds, The h.wood group, who also operate Hollywood’s swanky supper club, Delilah; 60s inspired music music venue The Peppermint Club; and lush rooftop bar, Harriet’s.
“The emergence of The Nice Guy in the region has been nearly 3 years in the making” says Co-Founder of The h.wood Group, John Terzian. “The original concept from LA was our first venture into a restaurant/lounge concept, which, having explored the F&B scene in Dubai, we strongly felt would be a breath of fresh air for our clientele in the Middle East. The Nice Guy marks the first step into organic construction for The h.wood Group which is juxtaposed with a fun and upscale lounge atmosphere ideal for the Dubai nightlife and dining scene.”
