Everyone’s favourite Dubai season, barbecue season, is here and to celebrate Anantara The Palm are launching a smokin’ new pop-up restaurant from Friday November 18 to Sunday, November 20. Setting up around the pool lagoon, from 6pm onwards, the multi award-winning barbecue master chef, Jord Althuizen, will cook up a mouthwatering sharing platter including appetisers, mains, and desserts.

For Dhs425 per person, guests will be presented with the centrepiece dishes from the smoker or grill along with sharing platters and unlimited house beverages. Previously awarded the world champion barbecuer of whole hog, Chef Jord will cook up a feast for fire foodies.

Guests can enjoy a selection of innovative appetisers and dips including smoked feta cream with grilled peach, thyme & honey chutney, fire-roasted red beet hummus with pistachio crunch, and smoked fish dip with jalapeño-chives oil, as well as unique main dishes such as Smokey’s vitello tonnato, southern style cornbread with black truffle-honey butter, and Texas-style smoked turkey with Carolina gold sauce & mustard-caviar.

Save room for dessert. Those with a sweet tooth can indulge with  marinated & grilled pineapple with coconut-mascarpone and heart-stopper profiteroles served for the final course.

Chef Jord Althuizen became renowned as one of the world’s leading barbecue chefs after graduating from the prestigious Hotelschool The Hague in 2005. He was first presented with the Tony Stone Low and Slow BBQ Competition for best beef brisket in 2013 before being crowned World Champion Whole Hog BBQ’er in 2014. Since 2016, he has worked as chef and co-owner of the Black Smoke Rotterdam.
