What’s On teams up with Hype to bring you news of Basement at Ego Urban Lounge, Boutique 7 Hotel, TECOM, Dubai, who will host numerous DJs over summer.

No work on Sunday? Got a late start? Take advantage of your envious position and check out Basement, the latest addition to Dubai’s clubbing scene.

The new weekly techno night has set up home at Ego Urban Lounge every Saturday. As well as inviting occassional international guests, Basement will showcase local talent, with Pioneer’s Middle East DJ Champ of 2013, Subandrio, locked in as a weekly resident.

Subandrio told Hype that he and fellow jock Nishan Lee had been planning Basement for quite some time and that the club “allows DJs to play deep, dark, melodic techno with no limits”. He added: “Since the recent launch, we’ve been able to attract a hyperactive crowd of underground music lovers. They’re the type of crowd that embraces change when the musical boundaries are being pushed.”

Dubai’s techno princess Miss P.M. has already graced the decks at Basement, and reported: “It’s such a good vibe in there, the crowd is really into the music and they danced until the end. Basement is for those who truly enjoy techno music in a proper underground club. I was really surprised that the crowd stayed so late. I was expecting them to arrive early and leave early given that it’s a work day the following day. I don’t think anything will stop these people from partying.”

A trip to Basement could be a shout, then, as the mercury continues to rise outside. Joining Subandrio on the decks in the next few weeks are DJs Adham, Ejaz and Nishan Lee.
