FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The queue to get in is long – either the food is amazing or its proximity to the beach makes it popular. The outside looks like a typical beachside diner, but it’s definitely more spacious than the inside which, though bright and modern, feels a little cluttered.
VIBE
It’s almost always busy with hungry beach dwellers dressed in swimwear giving it a cool, causal, laidback vibe.
WHAT TO ORDER
Almost half the menu is dedicated to eggs in their various forms so it would be foolish not to go for a breakfast dish. For a guilt-free option, the Benedict With Benefits – poached eggs on lightly toasted multi-grain bread and pistou sauce (the French version of pesto) is tasty. A three-tiered stack of warm blueberry pancakes with maple syrup works well as a side dish, too.
LOOK OUT FOR
If you’re all yolked out, or it’s later in the day, there are plenty of other options such as pizzas, Greek salads and steaks – you’ll just have to get through to the second half of a very large menu to find them.
IDEAL FOR
A tasty breakfast or lunch with the kids by the beach.
INSIDER INFO
Eggspectation is always busy so if you want a table at the weekend get there early.
FINAL THOUGHTS
If you’re expecting a full stomach from clean, wholesome food, you’ll walk away feeling pretty satisfied.
