Did you know: Dubai Municipality has an awesome app for pet owners
It includes a pet adoption database and the ability to report strays
Are you a new pet owner? Or maybe you’re just pet-curious? Either way, you’ll want to download the Aleef app from Dubai Municipality which aims to arm the city’s pet owners with all the tools they need to manage their furry friends.
Available for both Android and iPhone, the app has a number of useful features including the ability to register your pets via their municipality-issued microchip and tag numbers, and look up any nearby clinics and pet stores. The app will even remind you of any upcoming vaccinations that may be due, as well as the mandatory annual registration.

Registration and treatment of pets can be managed via the app and is facilitated through the Dubai Municipality Clinic. According to a report from Gulf News, the app received over 34,000 service requests alone in October 2016, a majority of which were for treatment.
Aleef is also great for would-be pet owners as it incorporates an adoption database where you can look through a list of available animals, with information on gender, age and whether they have been spayed or not. This is has the added assurance that any adoptions are officially sanctioned by Dubai Municipality, meaning you can avoid dealing with any scammers or unsavory types that are (sadly) sometimes associated with pet adoption in the UAE.
Lastly, and we love this function the most, the app has the ability to let you report any strays you might stumble across. You’re able to snap a photo, add information such as breed, tag number and colour, and even give location information so that Dubai Municipality will know where to look.
A must-download for all pet owners and anyone who wants to lend a hand to all the stray animals living on the streets.
