Here's what's happening at Souk Madinat Jumeirah this festive season
From workshops, to a Santa’s grotto, outdoor movie nights and more…
Recently What’s On reported that Souk Madinat Jumeirah‘s usual festive market wouldn’t be taking place this year. However, it’s not all bad news as the Arabian souk will still have some festivities throughout December, to get you in the Christmas spirit.
In the amphitheatre, you’ll find a festive garden with live music and outdoor movie nights. From December 10 to 26, visitors can enjoy a range of activities including carol singing, local musicians and garden games.
A line-up of festive movies is also planned including Home Alone, The Polar Express, The Grinch, and Daddy’s Home every evening from 7pm. Comfortable beanbags will be arranged on the steps of the amphitheatre for guests to relax as they watch.
There will even be a free Santa’s Grotto, for the little ones to come and hang out with the elves daily between 4pm and 7pm.
A schedule of arts and crafts workshops will also be on offer. Children can get their creative juices flowing with canvas painting, string art, DIY snow globe jars, Christmas-themed decoupage and painting sessions and more.

Tuck into festive menus throughout the Madinat too, as many of its restaurant are offering Christmassy dishes over Christmas. McGettigan’s will have a Jingle Bell Brunch on December 11 with roast turkey and ham with all the trimmings as well as Christmas cheesy hits, live music & DJ until the early hours.
Also somewhere within Souk Madinat will be a winter wonderland set up. The Christmas pop-up will run from December 1 to January 8, from noon to 1am daily. While the exact location is still being held tight, we can reveal that it’s in a super-accessible location in Souk Madinat, with free parking to boot.
