When is the next public holiday in the UAE? Here's a guide...
Here’s some great news to start your week off…
Just as quickly as it arrived, October has come to an end and since we are welcoming a new month, now’s the perfect time to be updated on the rest of the holidays we have coming up until the end of the year.
Sadly, we have no public holidays in November, but we do have one coming up in the very first week of December and it’s great news, as it looks like it could be another (extra) long weekend.
On December 1, it’s Commemoration Day formerly referred to as Martyr’s Day. This holiday honours the Emiratis who have died while protecting their country. It falls on a Tuesday.
While a mid-week break sounds great, there’s even better news.
The day that follows Commemoration Day is UAE National Day. This year, it is falling on Wednesday December 2. We usually get two days off to celebrate which means we may also have Thursday, December 3 as a day off.
So, combined with Commemoration Day, this means we could have five days off for those that usually have Friday and Saturday as their weekend.
National Day this year will mark the UAE’s 49th birthday, celebrating the unification of the seven emirates in 1971.
As usual, we will have to wait for the official announcement but we will be sure to update you when the official date is announced.
