Paint and Grape nights return to Louvre Abu Dhabi this week

There are few more sophisticated ways to soiree than with a paint and grape event. Whether you’re looking for a date night or mate night, the combination of flexing your artistic mastery (or lack of, the first rule of paint and grape nights is that there is no bad art), and fun vino-tinted shinanigans, is an absolute winner.

And where better to put brush to paper, than under the iconic canopy of Louvre Abu Dhabi’s dome. There are two We Love Art-organised paint and grape nights scheduled at the Museum Café so far for 2022. The first, taking place on Wednesday, January 5 — where aspiring Andy Warhols will tackle a pop-art interpretation of an Audrey Hepburn portratit, has sadly already sold out.

It’s not all bad news though, the next session taking place on Tuesday February 1 (6pm to 9pm), will see a crop of mini Monets try their hand at an abstract still life piece. And there are still some spaces left, although they’re expected to sell fast.

The price is Dhs390 and includes all your painting materials (and the pre-sketched 40 by 50cm canvas which you get to take home), two canapes, and two glasses of wine or four soft drinks. There’ll be a musical accompaniment too, a playlist packed with atmospheric French tunes and classic jazzy scene-setters.

Current rules mean a negative PCR obtained within 48 hours, in addition to the Alhosn Green Pass, will be required to enter the event. All guests must enter from the main Museum Entrance and are recommended to park in the visitor parking area. Just show your We Love Art ticket and negative PCR test when entering.
