Take note if you’re travelling with the Dubai based carrier…

If you’ve got an emirates flight coming up take note: walkie talkies and pagers are now prohibited from all flights. The Dubai-based carrier made the announcement on October 4 via its website, advising that the rule applies to both cabin bags and checked luggage.

Anyone found to be carrying pagers or walkie talkies will have them confiscated by Dubai Police, the airline has warned.

Recent Emirates updates

Last week, Emirates suspended flights to Iran, Iraq and Jordan, following the suspension of flights to Lebanon at the end of September. The suspensions come due to rising regional unrest.

Following an operational review, Emirates has resumed flights to Jordan as of October 6, and flights between Dubai and Amman are now operating as normal.

Flights to Iraq and Iran remain cancelled until today, Monday October 7. The suspension includes all flights on October 7. Customers transiting through Dubai with Iraq or Iran as their final destination will not be accepted for travel until October 8.

Emirates has extended its suspension of flights to Beirut until Tuesday October 15. Until further notice, customers transitting through Dubai with Beirut as their final destination won’t be permitted to board at their point of origin.
