However owning a home looks set to become way more affordable (like, within the realm of possibility for thousands affordable) if you choose to make Dubai South your base.

The Pulse, one of the upcoming development’s two residential communities, will have studio apartments going for as little as Dhs280,000 when they go on sale later this month.

Dubai South is being billed as the world’s first city centred around the happiness of its residents, and it looks like its property prices fall in line with that vision.

“Today, we are one step closer to accomplishing our goals by offering buyers the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of purchasing their dream home in Dubai South at very competitive prices,” said Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of the Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South.

So what do you get for Dhs280,000?

Well, details on what you’ll actually find in the studio apartments are scant, but The Pulse properties are all set around a 70-metre-wide, six-lane boulevard, and the gated community will feature a shopping centre, mosque, schools, hospital, sports centre and hotels.

In the residential cluster you’ll find one, two and three-bedroom apartments as well as the cheapest studios, and there’s two and three-bedroom townhouses for families.

Plus, the 145-square-kilometre site is just a few minutes away from the Expo 2020 HQ, and right by Al Maktoum International Airport.

You can snap up a unit when they go on sale at the end of September, but the finished properties won’t be ready to move in to until 2019.
