Pierce Brosnan to begin shooting in the UAE this February
Keep your eye out if you’re headed to the capital…
Heist thriller ‘The Misfits’ will begin filming in Abu Dhabi later this month, bringing with it a host of stars including Pierce Brosnan to the capital.
Brosnan recently signed on to the movie, which will be directed by action veteran Renny Harlin, who has previously directed films such as Die Hard 2 and Skip Trace.
Jumeirah at Etihad Towers has revealed it’s been chosen as one of the movie shoot locations for the upcoming film, so be sure to keep an eye out if you’re around the hotel later this month.
“We are extremely excited to have him on board,” said director Renny Harlin. “Pierce and I have been friends for many years and have been looking for a project to collaborate on for some time. I could not have hoped for a better actor to play our lead.”

Set mostly in the Middle East, The Misfits follows the story of renowned criminal Richard Pace, who finds himself caught up in an elaborate gold heist that promises to have far-reaching implications.
Jamie Chung and British actress Hermione Corfield will also appear in the film.
The producers say the project will begin shooting February 18, although it is not sure when, or for how long, the team will be in Abu Dhabi. The announcement was made on Tuesday at the European Film Market.
Abu Dhabi was recently the chosen location for Six Underground, Netflix’s biggest budget movie to date which saw a cast which included Ryan Reynolds spend four weeks in the captial.
More than 300 cast and crew spent 30 days in the UAE, shooting in Abu Dhabi, Liwa desert, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah.
