Suits you sir…

It’s the Abu Dhabi collab we’ve all been waiting for — good guess but nope, not Chagh Kabab x Balenciaga — this is Etihad x Armani/Casa.

Beyond the catwalks of Milan and Paris, the Italian house of fine design has already made its mark in Dubai by operating a hotel in the world’s tallest building. But their next ‘best fit’ adventure is taking them even higher.

To the skies over Abu Dhabi, infact, for a mile high constellation of sartorial aircraft style — the fashion empire’s interior design wing, Armani/Casa will be giving all new Etihad Business Class cabins a sophisticated glow up.

This applies to all new aircraft currently on order — including A350s and 787s, some of which will also feature private suites as part of ‘Beyond Business’ experience that could easily stand toe-to-DVT-socked-toe with other airlines’ First Class cabin experiences. Not naming any names. But. you know…

What’s On board?

And what actually is this Etihad and Armani/Casa collaboration..?

It comes under the title of ‘The Constellation Collection’ — essentially a fit out of luxurious accouterments, putting a little couture into crockery and cutlery, with matching pillow and duvet sets, and even a memory foam mattress on longer flights.

Inspiration comes from “the surroundings of Abu Dhabi” with the green inspired by the emirate’s date palms, aquamarines nodding to the botanical allure of the mangroves and slate “to symbolise the modernity of the iconic Abu Dhabi skyline.”

It’s all been designed in line with Etihad’s commitment to sustainability reducing equipment weight “by up to 10 per cent resulting in less fuel burn and fewer emissions.”

There were hints that, some of this Aramani artistry would find its way into economy cabins too. We’re currently waiting to hear back from the airline to find out in what ways this will manifest, as soon as we hear back, we’ll let you know.

Speaking at an appropriately swanky collab announcement launch party at W Abu Dhabi — Yas Island, Tony Douglas, Group Chief Executive Officer, of Etihad, said: “Today we unveil a completely new and elevated way to fly with Etihad Airways—an experience defined by our Emirati heritage yet shaped by a clear vision for our future.”

“Known globally for its Italian luxury and elegance, Armani/Casa is the ideal brand partner to create an unparalleled level of bespoke service and refinement for our guests.”
