Weekly underground club night Wanted have found a new home and they’re settling into their new abode with a string of cool guests in the coming weeks. Originally a Wednesday night gig at the now defunct Club Trilogy, Wanted switches to Thursdays at the recently opened Amnesia Underground (formerly the Submarine Club).

The weekly fun kicks off this Thursday with guest DJ and producer Daniel Stefanik, part of Sven Väth’s Cocoon family. Get up to speed with the underground German producer, resident at the Distillery club in Leipzig, by checking his recent mix on internet station Boiler Room TV. He’s followed on December 12 by 6th Borough Project’s Craig Smith all the way from Scotland. With influences soaked in boogie, jazz and funk, through hip hop and house, Craig’s sets are testament to 25 years of telling stories through music.

And then Berlin-based André Lodemann flies in for Wanted’s gig on December 19. Another jock with over 20 years in the game, Lodemann has released tracks on the Z Records, Freerange and Buzzinfly record labels amongst others.

Keeping it strictly underground, a spokesman for Wanted said: “We feel it’s important for nights like this to exist in order for the scene in Dubai to develop positively. Rather than booking artists that are commercially appealing, we choose to bring down the pioneering figures from the underground dance community who are responsible for pushing electronic music forward.

“Whether it be in techno, minimal, house, electro, breakbeat, electronica, the goal is to maintain a very high standard of artist bookings and really give the people of Dubai an education in what the world of underground dance music has to offer! We also intend to give the local talent the chance to get the exposure they deserve, giving them a good few hours to play before the main artist.”
