Dubai World Cup - the race, the show, the glam and the party
Dubai knows a thing or two about putting on a firework display, having set a world record for their stunning show on New Year’s Eve.
And so to the Dubai World Cup, the world’s richest horserace, which continued the fine tradition of breathtaking pyrotechnics, both on and off the track.
On it, African Story, the Godolphin horse owned by Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, claimed the top prize of $10 million in the showpiece event.
While off it, the skies above Meydan were illuminated by a display to rival any seen over the racecourse in the past.
There was also glamour, Dubai-style. Women in stunning dresses with the hats to match, and men, embracing their own cultures and backgrounds to deliver an eclectic mix of snappy suits.
As always, our photographers captured the very best of all it. Check out their snaps above.
