Second-largest butterfly park ever to house 35,000 of them in Dubai
What’s On has news of the Butterfly Garden at Miracle Gardens, near Arabian Ranches in Dubai, one of the best new things to do in Dubai.
Dubai’s Miracle Gardens will open its newest attraction before the end of May, a Butterfly Garden, which, true to the city’s form, will rank up there with the biggest of its kind on the planet.
Nine custom-built domes stretching around 1,800 square meters – big enough for 300 people per visit – the centre will be filled with different colours, sizes and species of butterflies, and is set to be second only to one in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The new development is part of a vast expansion at the site near Arabian Ranches, with a long-term vision for creating a safari experience for residents and tourists alike.
‘Second Stage’ at the facility will also include an ‘international garden’ showcasing famous world landmarks made entirely from plants and flowers. There will also be a huge flower clock around 15 meters in diameter, made out of real plants and flowers with changeable design for every season (twice a year), dubbed a ‘masterpiece of technology’.
Furthermore, an ‘aromatic zone’ will house the most powerful aromatic and medicinal plants from over 200 countries, with visitors encouraged to touch, smell and make their own cup of tea, fresh from the garden.
Speaking to Emirates 24/7 this week, project manager Farhan Shehzad said: “We will be opening the butterfly park in next two weeks. We will have 35,000 butterflies, of all breeds and fancy colours, living in their natural habitat in these domes.”
Entry to the park is just Dhs30, and free for children up to the age of three.
