What’s On announces ‘The Music Of Queen’, Dubai Media City, a rock and symphonic show using an orchestra, band and some We Will Rock You cast members.

A special musical performance showcasing legendary rock band Queen is coming to Dubai.

Featuring stars of London’s West End smash hit ‘We Will Rock You’, the show takes place at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on November 28.

Hailed as one the biggest and best rock shows in the world, ‘The Music Of Queen’ combines a16-strong band with the stellar cast from the famous production in the UK, including Rachael Wooding as Scaramouche, Ricardo Afonso as Galileo, Peter Eldridge as P Puff Diddy and Jenna Lee-James as Killer Queen. Another thrilling aspect will the inspiring sound of the 46-piece UAE National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) adding their own classical slant to smash hits like ‘Bohemian Rapsody’, ‘We Are The Champions’, Somebody to Love, A Kind of Magic, Fat-Bottomed Girls, Don’t Stop Me Now, and, of course, ‘We Will Rock You’.

With in excess of 300 million albums sold worldwide, glam rockers Queen are one the few truly iconic British bands. With more than four decades of music and 18 number one albums, they are recognized as one of the most influential rock bands of all time.

“The music scene is massively growing the UAE and I’m so excited that our talented orchestra members will be working with internationally-acclaimed performers and musicians to bring the hits of Queen to Dubai,” the show’s musical director said.

British composer Richard Sizewell is behind the musical arrangements, having previously worked with Blur, The Stranglers, Robbie Williams, Duran Duran, The Pet Shop Boys, Sir Tom Jones, Boy George, Sir Bob Geldof, Gary Barlow and more.

Tickets for the show, which is compared with Proms In The Park due to its family and picnic vibe, will be on sale from Wednesday, October 12.
