Complete this line from a famous festive song: “I’m dreaming of a…” Yep, it’s White Christmas. The classic song features in the 1954 film of the same name, which is being screened at Gaucho steakhouse in DIFC on December 22.

The much-loved film musical stars Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Vera-Ellen, and Rosemary Clooney (aunt of George). The action focuses on a double act who meet during the Second World War. After the war they become successful and put on a show in a barn in Vermont to help their former commanding officer from their army days.

White Christmas was directed by Michael Curtiz, who also famously lensed Casablanca, while the score was written by the godfather of American songwriting, Irving Berlin. White Christmas is the biggest-selling record of all time, having shifted more than 50 million copies. However, movie trivia fans, the song actually first appeared more than a decade earlier in the 1942 film Holiday Inn, in which Bing Crosby also starred.
