If your penchant for coloured chinos wasn’t fully quenched at the Dubai World Cup, you can fill your boots – or boat shoes – at the glitzy Beach Polo Cup Dubai taking place on April 10 and 11.

Returning to Dubai after galloping through Miami, Ibiza and Cabo San Lucas, beach polo arrives in the UAE for the weekend-long tournament.

It is hoped that the continued success of the event will lead to Dubai earning the coveted FIP membership. Speaking to What’s On, Piero Dillier, a veteran of the sport, said: “Dubai is a developing country when it comes to playing polo. We would welcome it as a member ofthe FIP, but in order to do that they need to develop an association here.”

Taking over the beach at the Skydive Dubai complex, it kicks off with a parade along JBR joined by the four competing teams, followed by two days of competitive polo, with food and drink outlets keeping everyone fed and watered, plus plenty of photographers to capture you looking glam over the weekend.

With regard to any special guests, organisers said: “We’ve never disappointed yet, have we? Which celebrities will attend this weekend is a big surprise.”
