David Hasselhoff to film next movie in Abu Dhabi?
Hollywood star David Hasselhoff visited the capital to raise funds for his latest film, Hour Man Hoff, and to talk to local film students.
While the Baywatch star was in the UAE for a scheduled appearance at the opening of new restaurant in Dubai recently, he made good use of his time by visiting the Image Nation offices in the capital to help secure financing for his next film, Hour Man Hoff.
The film has been described as a “spy spoof” similar to the likes of the 1960’s James Bond parody, Our Man Flint, and will see the Hoff return to Abu Dhabi for filming in April of next year, if all goes to plan.
Image Nation Abu Dhabi has already financed the star’s latest film, Killing Hasselhoff. The low-budget flick tells the story of a man desperate to win a celebrity death pool match by hiring a hit man to kill David Hasselhoff, his pick for which celebrity will die next. While Hasselhoff plays himself in the film, there are other celebrity cameos in store for viewers, including appearances by wrestler Hulk Hogan and pop star Justin Bieber.
In a video posted on Image Nation’s Facebook page Hasselhoff says, “Dreams do come true. The movie got made and I think I’m coming down here and filming more stuff.”
The film, which is currently in post-production, will be shown at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
While the Knight Rider star was in town he also spoke with local filmmakers and found himself agreeing to star in a cameo. So fans of the Hoff should be seeing a lot more of the actor here in Abu Dhabi soon.
