To most of us, Jumeirah is the most ‘suburban’ space in Dubai. But look beyond its quiet streets and you’ll find restaurants, bars and beaches with a wealth of shopping spots – from the Galleria Mall and Box Park to Wasl Square.

Tasty, tempting, mouthwatering – and that’s just their Instagram feed. This retro-styled restaurant, with its novel sushi joint-esque conveyor belt, has already garnered a cult following among Dubai’s burger aficionados, who are happy to queue for its legendary sliders.

VISIT: Jumeirah Mosque
The only mosque in Dubai open to the public, this proud edifice is a place to soak up some serenity. The Sheikh Mohammed Cultural Centre For Understanding organises daily mosque tours (except Friday mornings) at 10am. These last around 75 minutes, and include a Q&A session. Afterwards, head to the adjacent Majlis Café, which sells camel milk coffees and ice cream.
