Music fans are in for a treat – Enrique Iglesias, Florence and the Machine and Blur have been announced as the headline acts for the Abu Grand Prix After Race Concerts in November.

The concerts will take place at du Arena during the Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix, which brings the 2015 Formula One season to a close from November 27 to 29.

Meanwhile, British dance legends Faithless, Lebanese crooner Wael Kfoury, US urban legend J Cole (who was the first artist signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label) and Filipino artist Bamboo will headline the Beats on the Beach free outdoor concerts on Abu Dhabi Corniche.

MORE ON THE THREE ARTISTS

Latin popstar Enrique Iglesias will be taking to the stage on Friday, November 28. The singer and actor has sold over 137 million records, and has had 13 number one hits in the billboard charts. He’s known for his hits with some of the biggest female popstars of the era, including Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston and Nicole Sherzinger.

Florence and the Machine are no strangers to the UAE – they hit the shores of Dubai in 2013, when they headlined the Sandance festival on Nasimi Beach. Florence Welch and Co are just coming to the end of their UK tour, which they’re rounding off nicely tonight with the last of four sold-out shows at London’s Alexandra Palace.

As for the undisputed kings of Britpop, Blur (well, unless you’re an Oasis fan), they’re making their UAE debut as the event’s headliners on Saturday September 29. They dominated the UK charts in the 90s with hits like Song 2, Coffee and TV, Girls and Boys and Park Life. Although Damon Albarn and co. did split in 2009, they have since reformed and returned to form with The Magic Whip, which they’ll no doubt be showcasing at the concert.

The F1 Grand Prix after race concerts are one of the hottest events in the capital’s calendar. Last year saw iconic rockers The Who, Happy hitmaker Pharrell Williams and electronic music maestro Armin van Buuren performing at the event. Tickets for the concerts will not go on sale separately, with all Grand Prix ticket holders eligible to attend on any given day.
