Katy Perry to play Dubai show
Any Kitty Kats out there? We have news for you…
It’s just been announced that Katy Perry will return to Dubai for a gig on November 10.
The only issue? The Dubai Airshow Gala, where she’s sure to belt out hits like Roar and Firework, is invite only.
It will be hosted by Dubai Airports to help launch their new initiative MusicDXB, and her show will likely only be open to VIPs.
Katy is heading to #Dubai this November as part of Dubai Airports’ #musicDXB initiative!

The Airshow’s gala dinner has previously hosted artists like Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, Diana Ross, Tom Jones and George Benson (so basically a Rolodex of legends). And this isn’t the first time Perry, 30, has performed in Dubai: she headlined the FAI World Parachuting Championships closing ceremony in December 2012.
The Dark Horse singer – who has released six singles that have sold over 5 million digitally – is currently on her Prismatic World Tour.
So what’s MusicDXB? Well the new concept from Dubai Airports will see local and international acts – from famous to emerging – playing at Dubai International airport to treat those in transit with live shows. Pretty cool.
The first confirmed airport show will be from Jack Pack, a swing vocal group who were finalists in Britain’s Got Talent: the four-piece will play in Dubai International on November 11 and will also open for Katy the night before.
Here’s what the lads do:
Performances on the in-airport MusicDXB stage will be broadcast live on the Dubai Airports social media platforms.
“We are thrilled to launch the programme with such high profile superstars, but our goal is to also put the spotlight on up-and-coming talent from Dubai, the UAE and around the globe who have proven their passion and ability to entertain our growing fan base on the world’s largest stage,” said Dubai Airports’ CEO Paul Griffiths of the initiative.
And here’s one of Katy’s catchiest tunes:
