Chill out at the spa – literally
What’s On has details about Cryo, the new cryotherapy spa facility that will open up in the capital in December.
The latest health/fitness craze to hit the UAE sees people blast their bodies and faces with air cooled to -140 to -180C on purpose. That’s right, and now you’ll be able to try it out right here in Abu Dhabi.
Cryo, a spa facility dedicated to cryotherapy, will open in the Abu Dhabi Country Club in December. Proponents of the icy treatments claim it can help with weight loss, sports recovery and even provide anti-ageing effects.
Elite athletes including NBA player LeBron James and footballer Cristiano Ronaldo are said to be fans of the treatment, which is supposed to help with muscle relief and relaxation following workouts.
The spa will allow guests to try out a three-minute long full body treatment that will see you exposed to air cooled at -140C. They claim a single session can burn up to 800 calories, help with muscle soreness and help flush out toxins from the body.
Other treatments include the Beauty Angel facial, which is meant to revive the skin and reduce fine lines.
This isn’t the first Cryo spa to open in the Emirate however. Just last month Cryo debuted in Al Ain’s Boutik Mall inside the Energy Plus Fitness Club.
The spa will be open at the Abu Dhabi Country Club daily, from 9am to 9pm. For bookings, call: (02) 6577777.
