How does a camera manage to get just metres away from the pinnacle of the Burj Khalifa? When it’s an unmanned drone.

A new stunning short featuring Dubai’s many landscapes is remarkable because it was shot entirely by drone (and skilled drone ‘pilots’).

The Dubai drone video is a collaboration between Emirates Airlines and Boeing:The ‘View From Above’ project involves a film on 18 different destinations, including the city we call home. Each one showcases the work drone cameras can do thanks to the combination of their ability to fly, and their ability to traverse tight corners.

The Dubai by drone video swoops over dunes, skims past skyscrapers and shows entire communities in one shot.

The other locations filmed as part of the project include Seattle, Rio, Sydney, Sri Lanka, Ireland and New Zealand.
