Dubai to soon boast a 360 degree, 50-storey-high infinity pool
Remember how we told you a few years ago that The Palm Jumeirah would one day be home to the world’s tallest swimming pool?
Well it’s just been announced that the pool in question (pictured – in rendering form – above) will be part of a St Regis hotel. Also, it will be 50-storeys above ground (a touch freaky) and it should open to the public in 2018.
The St Regis Dubai, The Palm will be part of Nakheel’s Palm Tower, and its pool will run across all four sides of the tower, offering panoramic views with your swim (and at 700 ft above sea level).

The Palm Jumeirah St Regis will be a 289 room hotel – with the rooms spanning the first 18 floors of the tower. The upper floors of the building will be made up of 504 luxury apartments, a restaurant and viewing deck (on the 51st and 52nd stories) and of course the St Regis pool on the top floor.
The Palm Tower will be built close to the upcoming Nakheel Mall, a Dhs2.5billion shopping complex with 418,000 square metres of retail space. Early plans suggest that 200 shops, 12 fine dining restaurants, two department stores, a nine-screen cinema, 4,000 parking spaces, six medical clinics and a wealth of cafes and traditional mall eateries will make up the complex at the northern end of the Palm’s trunk.
Well the swimming pool is certainly going to have a great view.
In other news, St Regis Dubai is building a polo-resort in Dubai within the next few years, as well as a St Regis Amman (meaning Jordan long weekends are about to get a lot more luxury).
