A new treatment at Urban Male Lounge promises to take years off your face, even if it’s just for a day or two, using products by US company HydroPeptide. A bit of science is needed to understand this one: peptides are small proteins that encourage the production of collagen. There are natural and synthetic variants and you’ll fine the latter in the company’s products – they help produce collagen and elastin for plumper, softer skin, can reduce muscle contractions, decrease collagen degradation and nourish skin. What does this all mean for your face? While we’re dubious of any claim that a facial can make you actually look years younger, it certainly left us with soft, plump fresh skin and obliterated the bags from under our eyes. You get a nice head, shoulder and arm massage thrown in as well.

The Lounge in Al Bateen offers both, and their top treatment, The Lounge Bath, is a 90-minute session that uses products infused with minerals from the Dead Sea for an all over body scrub that aims to rejuvenate skin. The session takes place in a steam room, which opens pores and gets them ready for exfoliation, and also features a massage using Argean oil, plus a body wrap using ghassoul, a mineral found in the Moroccan Atlas Mountains that stops skin from being greasy and eliminates impurities.
