In honour of the upcoming Abu Dhabi Tour, a new competition is letting amateur cyclists race around Yas Marina Circuit for big prizes.

The Abu Dhabi Tour Challenge will be hosted on October 11 and 18 at the F1 track and sees amateur riders race around Yas Marina Circuit for 30 minutes. Those with the first, second and third fastest laps in each category will be able to score top prizes including a VIP Abu Dhabi Tour experience, cycling jerseys, prize vouchers and more.

The timed trials are open to cyclists aged 18 to 69 and cost Dhs50 to enter. The challenge will be hosted after TrainYas from 9.30pm onwards and will see riders cycle as many laps as they can to clock in their fastest time in a 30-minute session.

The Abu Dhabi Tour, which will be hosted from October 20 to 23, will see the world’s top cyclists compete in a four-day 555km race around the Emirate. The event will see some of the biggest names in the sport including Mark Cavendish, Sir Bradley Wiggins and Elia Viviani compete later this month.

To see the pro peloton, visitors can head down to the Yas Marina Circuit on Sunday October 23 at 5pm to watch the final stage of the tour take place on the circuit.
