Want a sneak peek of Guggenheim Abu Dhabi? Head to Saadiyat
What’s On has info on The Creative Act, a new exhibition of 25 pieces of modern art created by 18 international artists. The works will call Saadiyat Island home once the museum opens
Residents can get a sneak peek at artwork that will be housed in the upcoming Guggenheim Abu Dhabi this month, with a new exhibition at Manarat Al Saadiyat.
The Creative Act will be divided into three sections – Performance, Process and Presence – and will feature more than 25 works of modern art from 18 international artists.
Expect everything from paintings, photography, sculpture, video and media installations. “The Creative Act draws back the curtain on the creative process through the work of a diverse group of artists featured in the growing collection,” says Richard Armstrong, director of Solomon R Guggenheim Museum And Foundation.
Confirmed artists participating in the Performance section of the exhibition include Pakistani conceptual talent Rasheed Araeen and Emirati Mohammed Kazem. Colourful paintings from Japanese artists Shiraga Kazuo and Tanaka Atsuko will be on display in the Process section, while the Presence area will feature paper works as well as a video installation by German-Egyptian visual artist Susan Hefuna.
In addition to the show, there will also be a handful of art workshops inspired by the exhibition for guests to attend. Check the website for the latest updates.
