How to eat a Michelin star meal right here in Abu Dhabi
Emirates Palace is hosting a Michelin starred chef in their hotel and you can go and try his food right now. Chef Norbert Niederkofler will be serving up a five and seven-course menu at Mezzaluna until April 8.
The Italian chef runs the two-star fine-dining restaurant St Hubertus in the Rosa Alpina Hotel. He is best known for his emphasis on cooking cuisine from local sources in and around the Dolomite Mountains.
Dubbed the “cook the mountain” philosophy, Niederkofler only uses ingredients produced from the local areas around the Dolomite mountains. “The concept is really to try to recreate nature on the plate,” explains Niederkofler. “We know exactly where the products come from, we know the farmers, so you can really taste the mountains.”
So what can you expect at the table? “You have a very interesting mix of Italian and Austrian cuisine,” says Niederkofler, “It’s an experience with different tastes, with a cuisine made in that area and especially made for us.”
The menu will feature a range of classic dishes from the restaurant including the chef-recommended beetroot gnocchi, which sees potato dumplings cooked in a beetroot reduction.
