Bayn: The In-Between exhibition
A lot has happened to the UAE since it was formed 45 years ago – and a group of artists have tried to sum up the nation’s incredible transformation at Bayn: The In-Between, an exhibition at Warehouse421 in Mina Port. The exhibition at the capital’s art hub features pieces by nine Arab talents from the region.

Night brunch at Boa

Get fit at the mall
Hold the front page: you can get some exercise while visiting a shopping centre, and we don’t just mean from all that walking. Marina Mall is hosting two evening fitness events this month. The first is a boot camp, running daily at 8pm – visitors to the mall can take part in a series of exercises and if they do well at them, they can have a crack at The Unique Challenge, an obstacle course that has been set up in the mall’s main exhibition area. There’s a Dhs10 fee to take part in the activities, which will be donated to a local autism centre.

Drive away boredom at Yas Kart Zone
The Formula 1 season finalé in Abu Dhabi famously takes place as the sun goes down (it’s the only night time race on the sport’s calendar) and Yas Marina Circuit is hosting evening sessions on its go-karting track this Ramadan. Look up at the stars
Did you know that Abu Dhabi has an observatory? You’ll find it near Al Wathba’s cycle and camel racetracks (it’s on Google Maps) and it’s open three days a week to the public. Stargazers can peer at the night sky through a variety of different-sized telescopes and you can also camp there – they’ll supply the tents and campfires.

Australian talent Des Spencer started his professional career as an artist in the late 1980s and his work has been displayed all over the UAE. His pieces are currently on display in the nation’s capital and the exhibition has a local theme running through it. Particular highlights include his Formula One racing car acrylic paintings, plus his colour images of camels and tranquil desert landscapes.
