WATCH: The new Imagine Dragons video 'Thunder' was filmed in Dubai

American rock band, Imagine Dragons have dropped their new track ‘Thunder’ with an accompanying music video in which you might just recognise a few of the locations.
Directed by Joseph Kahn, the 3:23 minute clip features shots of a number of notable locations across Dubai including the Burj Khalifa and Sheikh Zayed Road, but is most noticeably filmed in the uber-chic Dubai Design District (D3) area.
The unique architecture of D3 lends itself to the sci-fi nature of video which depicts a trio of alien beings contorting in time with the song while the band’s vocalist Dan Reynolds sings nearby.
Khan, who has worked with various artists ranging from Taylor Swift to Snoop Dogg, was tapped to direct an adaptation of William Gibson’s science fiction classic Neuromancer in 2007, but has since been removed from the project.
While Imagine Dragons are slated to begin a two-month long European tour next month, there is no word whether the filming of this video in Dubai signals the band will be performing here any time soon.
However, judging by how much fun they had when they were in town making the video (see the Instagram post below), it’s not completely outside the realm of possibility.
