VIDEO: Watch the Batmobile tear around the streets of Dubai
The Dark Knight’s ride is built on the chassis of a Lamborghini Gallardo
Dubai has no shortage of supercars cruising its highways on any given day. So many in fact that we often forget to be impressed by just how close in proximity we constantly are to some of the most desirable vehicles in the world.
Every now and then, however, an automobile comes along that reminds us that we actually haven’t “seen it all”.
In this case, yes, we’re talking about the Batmobile.
A video posted to YouTube by online car enthusiast website Private Motor Club, shows the Caped Crusader’s ride speeding down some of Dubai’s most recognisable roads including Sheikh Zayed Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, with the Burj Khalifa standing proudly in the background.
This isn’t your grandaddy’s Batmobile either. According to the club’s website the bespoke car is based on the hit 2015 video game Arkham Knight, and built on the chassis of a Lamborghini Gallardo with a Lamborghini V10 engine, so it’s got the horsepower to match its mean looks.
Originally created in Sweden, the car is owned and driven by Team Galag of Saudi Arabia who built the car to be a part of the 2016 Gumball 3000, an annual British motor rally that combines cars, music, fashion and entertainment.
Only one question remains…mind if we give it a spin?
