Dubai Police are offering a free home security service to travelling residents
They will send a patrol car round to make sure everything is on the up and up
While we can comfortably say that Dubai is one of the safest cities in the world to live in it never hurts to be mindful of security, especially when it concerns your home and possessions.
To that end, Dubai Police are encouraging residents to sign up and take advantage of a free home security service if they plan to travel overseas during the summer month.
A video posted to social media gives details of the service explaining that, should you sign up, Dubai Police will send a patrol car to drive by your villa making sure that everything is a-ok until you get back from your trip.

Free police protection sounds great, how do I sign up?
You have a few options if you’d like to take advantage of this free service (and who wouldn’t want free police protection?), either register online via the Dubai Police website, sign up using the Dubai Police app or fill out a form at your nearest police station.
You’ll need to be sure to meet the following criteria to qualify: a valid UAE ID card, an active email address, and it is recommended that you secure all windows and shut off water and electricity before travelling as well as depositing money and valuables at your bank.
The service is also currently only available for villas and houses, and not apartment buildings, for obvious reasons.
