Thinking about buying a new car? Well, you may want to consider investing in an electric vehicle as they now come with a number of incentives designed to make them a more attractive purchase over standard petrol-powered cars.
It was announced earlier today at a joint press conference between the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) that anyone purchasing an electric vehicle in Dubai will be entitled free parking in 40 designated areas around the city, as well free registration and renewal fees.
Upon registration, motorists will also be given a Salik tag free of charge and a license plate sticker that will help clearly identify the vehicle as electric.

The move is designed to encourage a higher adoption rate for electric vehicles, with the total number on Dubai’s roads expected to reach upwards of 42,000 by 2030 according to a report in The Khaleej Times.
There are also plans to roll out 100 charging stations across the city which electric vehicle owners will be able to use for free until the end of 2019.
Free parking AND charging? Sounds like a good excuse to make the switch to electric ASAP.
