The acai berry is a real hipster superfood right now, thanks in part because it’s packed with antioxidants and fibre, and it’s claimed it can aid weight loss and even improve circulation. The Raw Place’s acai bowl is made of acai powder, strawberries, blueberries, goji berries, banana, chia seeds, almond butter and almond ‘mylk’ (consisting of almonds, dates and pink Himalayan salt).

04. Coco Yogo ice cream


Natural Kitchen on Reem Island sells ice cream (and cheesecakes) made by Coco Yogo, the UAE’s first raw, vegan and gluten-free dessert online shop that was set up back in 2012. The puds are free of dairy, soy, corn, gluten, eggs and refined sugar, and are vegan.

05. Chocolate banana square
