The RTA has rolled out new self-service payment kiosks across Dubai
This should save time when making payments or renewing a licence…
Motorists rejoice! It’s now even easier to manage your RTA busywork thanks to a number of new kiosks that have been rolled out across Dubai.
The 20 self-service machines will enable motorists to complete various tasks (as well as make payment) related to drivers and vehicle licensing, as well as parking services and ‘To Whom It May Concern’ certificates, all without ever having to visit an RTA office.
The machines work in four languages – Arabic, English, Urdu and Malayalam – and accept both cash and credit/debit cards.
They’re filled with all sorts of fancy tech to make document processing easier, such as a scanner and electronic signature feature that allows customers to send copies of documents directly to the service centre from the machine.

Security is also paramount as each machine is outfitted with a fingerprint scanner and ID card reader to verify the identity of the person using it. Payment receipts can be also be e-mailed directly to customers once a transaction is completed.
The RTA says that the roll out falls in line with their strategic goals of making Dubai a smarter and happier city. We’re just pleased that it means less time spent standing in queues when renewing our driving licence.
