HH Sheikh Hamdan is challenging Dubai to get fit in 30 days
Put down that pizza slice and get off the couch, it’s time to get active…
The Dubai Fitness Challenge, a new initiative from HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, was announced earlier today via a short video posted to the his Instagram account.
The month-long campaign, scheduled to run between 20 October – 18 November, hopes to inspire Dubai residents and citizens alike to commit to 30 minutes of exercise daily for 30 days.
The 30 minutes of exercise can be in whatever sport you desire, whether it’s a brisk walk after work, or an early morning swim, so long as it lasts half an hour and is consistent over a whole month.
You can sign up to take part in the challenge via the official website as an individual, Government entity, corporate team or school, with more than 1,400 sports training sessions, 75 temporary sports halls, 16 events and 5 carnivals set up especially for the challenge. There are also plenty prizes to be won for those that need a little extra motivation.
In the meantime, here’s a photo of the Crown Prince being super sporty at last year’s Spartan Race to get you inspired.
